The Mortal Instruments wordt waarschijnlijk een televisie serie

Er is eindelijk nieuws op komst over de verdere verfilming van de The Mortal Instruments serie van Cassandra Clare!

Eerder vandaag tweette Martin Moszkowicz, het hoofd van Constantin Films, de producent van City of Bones, dat er morgen (Maandag 13 Oktober) goed nieuws zou komen.

 

 

 

Er zal morgen dus een artikel verschijnen in de Duitse krant Süddeutsche Zeitung, en waarschijnlijk zal het nieuws kort daarna ook online te vinden zijn.

 

Inmiddels is echter op de website van The Hollywood Reporter al een nieuws bericht verschenen dat The Mortal Instruments waarschijnlijk als serie op televisie zal verschijnen!

 

“Constantin Film, the production company that controls the rights to Cassandra Clare’s best-selling YA fantasy franchise and which produced The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones film, is relaunching Mortal Instruments as a high-end drama series.

Constantin has hired Ed Decter, whose writer-producer credits include Helix, Unforgettable, In Plain Sight and The Client List, as the showrunner for the Mortal Instruments series. The project is currently in development, with Constantin planning to begin production next year. No broadcast partners are yet attached to the series.”

Volgens The Hollywood Reporter heeft Martin Moszkowicz tegen hun gezegd dat het wat hun betreft logischer is om van de boeken een televisie serie te maken.

“There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the Mortal Instruments film. In the series we’ll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”

 

Er is dus weer volop hoop voor de verfilming van Cassandra Clare’s prachtige serie! Wat denken of vinden jullie ervan?

City of Ashes zal niet geregisseerd worden door Harald Zwart

Entertainment website ScienceFiction.com heeft gemeld dat Harald Zwart, die City of Bones regisseerde, niet langer verbonden is aan de verfilming van City of Ashes.

While the studio has made no official announcements, as of this time Zwart stated that “The studio is still certain that they will make this movie, but it’s not me who directs it. I will focus on other projects in the future. Shadow Hunters was a great experience and it gave me a good window to show off.”

De productie van City of Ashes, die eigenlijk voor vorig jaar stond is voor onbepaalde tijd uitgesteld.  Sinds het bericht van het uitstel op 11 September vorig jaar is er geen nieuws meer geweest over de verfilming van het boek.

Er is nog geen officieel bericht gekomen van Sony Pictures en Constantin over het verlaten van Harald Zwart.

Productie City of Ashes mogelijk dit jaar / Production City of Ashes possibly this year

Als we Yahoo Singapore mogen geloven zou de productie van City of Ashes nog dit jaar kunnen beginnen. De website meldt dat acteur Godfrey Gao, die de rol van Magnus Bane vertolkte in City of Bones afgelopen jaar, tijdens een store launch heeft gezegd dat hij later dit jaar naar de Verenigde Staten vliegt voor de verfilming van het tweede deel van de The Mortal Instruments reeks.

If we may believe Yahoo Singapore, the production of City of Ashes could start as early as this year. The website announced that actor Godfrey Gao, who played the role of Magnus Bane in last year’s City of Bones, has said during a store launch, that he’ll be flying to the United States for the film adaption of the second part of the The Mortal Instruments series.

The Taiwanese-Canadian star also revealed that he will be flying to the US after filming concludes, to begin the sequel to last year’s “The Mortal Instrument: City of Bones”.

Aside from reprising his role as Magnus Bane for the second instalment, “The Mortal Instrument: City of Ashes”, the actor also revealed that he has received other offers from other Hollywood production, and expressed his hopes to be able to be involved in as many as them.

Momenteel is er echter nog geen officiële bevestiging van zowel Constantin Films, die de eerste film heeft geproduceerd, nog van Godfrey Gao zelf. Hopelijk komt er dus binnenkort meer duidelijkheid of City of Ashes echt gemaakt gaat worden.

At the moment there is no official confirmation from either Constantin Films, who produced the first movie, nor from Godfrey Gao himself. Let’s hope there will be more clarity soon about whether City of Ashes will really be filmed.
